The IWA-Sport 2015 annual report is now available.
The report provides a comprehensive review of the year across the many sports programmes we ran in addition to acknowledging the many achievements of our members outside our own programmes.
The following short summary gives a snap shot of the year but please refer to the report for a more detailed analysis of the year.
- We coordinated 12 teams to compete at respective European Championships, World Championships and open competitions involving 112 athletes..
- At High Performance level our members also competed at European Championships in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, archery and table tennis and World Championships in athletics, swimming and sailing.
- We carried out refurbishment works on the Oliver Murphy Sports Centre in Clontarf to upgrade the gym and sportshall to a very high standard.
- We held two information forums for our members and clubs which included talks on governance matters, safeguarding and anti doping.
- We held a wheelchair basketball Women in Sport promotional event in December
- We partnered with numerous agencies to deliver many programmes and events across the country including the NRH Games in September amongst many other events.
